Graduate Musician-in-Residence (with accommodation)

Cheltenham College seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and talented music graduate to take up the role of Graduate Musician-in-Residence (GMiR) from September 2026. The role is offered for an initial fixed period of one year.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is considering a career in teaching or education to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and highly musical school environment. We warmly welcome applications from recent graduates or individuals at the start of their career.

Working closely with the Director of Music, the GMiR will support a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities, including ensemble coaching, rehearsals, concerts, music administration, and technical support for performances. There may also be opportunities to assist with teaching, composition support, and accompaniment.
The GMiR will work with a highly motivated and dedicated body of students and staff in an environment in which Music is recognised and celebrated as both an important academic subject and as a hugely valuable cultural experience.
There is an expectation that the postholder would be a Resident Tutor in one of College’s boarding houses and would be expected to undertake evening duties and responsibilities to assist with the smooth running and pastoral care of the pupils.
